BUILDER CHALLENGE

The home's multi-level layout required a staircase that would efficiently connect each floor while preserving the open feel of the interior. The challenge was designing a system that fit within a compact footprint without sacrificing natural light, visibility, or architectural impact.


OUR SOLUTION

Iron Timbers designed a custom switchback monostringer staircase featuring substantial 3.5-inch thick solid red oak treads paired with a minimalist vertical steel railing system. The open-riser design allows natural light to pass freely through the stairwell, while the clean steel structure provides the strength needed to support multiple flights. The result is a staircase that feels light, open, and integrated into the home's contemporary architecture.
